Living Our Purpose
September 10, 2007
Each of us has a specific purpose for being where we are. All of our lives have purpose, a reason for living, a reason for being.
The old saying, "God don't make no junk" is true when we consider our purpose and the plan God lays out for you. If each of us sets out to live our purpose we cannot help but to succeed, mainly because we are doing what we are destined to do or becoming what we are supposed to become.
If we focus our objectives and our desire on God's purpose for our lives we are headed down the right path. With God's plan in mind, our purpose in focus and our commitment to do what we are supposed to do we have a recipe for success.
All of us have potential that God helps us define, establish and utilize through our gifts and talents. Some of us, me included, go a long time without ever figuring out our intended purpose. In my case, it was growing and maturing enough to finally bead in and uncover that purpose. It wasn't that it was hidden it was just that I couldn't see God's plan. Once I finally knew I had more confidence, more motivation and a greater desire to do God's will. I was suddenly "on fire" for God.
It took so long because I was unprepared for it any sooner. God was still molding and shaping me as he continues to do today. The timing was and is his. I couldn't have handled it any sooner.
A minister friend of mine recently told me, "God is never early and God is never late but always on time." It is his timing to be revealed to us when the time is right.
Our purpose unfolds in God's timing so it will lead to our success in His name and He is glorified. Our overall purpose is to glorify him and he dictates the direction from which that comes.
If you haven't discovered your purpose you will in God's timing. He has a unique and special way of letting things unfold as they are meant to be so that our direction and our purpose benefits us and glorifies him. Our success through him is assured by us living our purpose.
Be Blessed This Day!
